Socially Responsible Investing (SRI)
Socially Responsible Investing is an economic strategy that focuses not only on financial aspects but also on environmental and social characteristics of an investment. Although in some cases there might be a trade off situation between these aspects in the short term the long term benefits of Socially Responsible Investing are obvious. This is especially true for timber investments as their long term success highly depends on a sustainable project structure. Especially environmental factors are of high importance as they have a direct influence on the growth rate and the quality of trees. Caudex Capital strongly supports a high level of biodiversity in timber projects that helps to reduce investment risks such as diseases, pests, fires and even storm.
All timber projects covered by Caudex Capital will be certified according to one of the three certification schemes:
- Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
- The Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI)
- Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC)
Caudex Capital is fully committed to the concept of Socially Responsible Investments and is a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI).
